Cora and I had been on vacation in Puerto Rico together
when she spotted this leaf in the Ciales Jungle. We determined to
pick it up on our way out of the caves but then passed it up on
the way back to the car. Then suddenly a friend who we met there,
got into the car with the leaf and handed it over to us as if it
was simply meant to be. Coming back to New York in autumn, on the
verge of winter, for me the leaf became a symbol of nostalgia for
the seasons and our beautiful vacation. By the way, the print is
the actual size of the leaf!
